A Thai designer named Sirichai Bunprathueang has won the GIT World Jewelry Design Awards 2023. The competition, held under the theme “Glitter & Gold: The Brilliant Way of Gold Shine,” aims to support entrepreneurs, designers, and individuals interested in the gem and jewelry business. This year, a total of 770 pieces were selected out of 497 submissions from foreign designers and 273 works by Thai designers. Mr. Bunprathueang’s winning design, called “Golden Hour,” incorporates gold, citrine, and diamond, symbolizing the magical moment of the morning and evening sun. The first and second runners-up were Netrnapa Songseang from Thailand and Xueer Song from China, respectively. The consolation prize was awarded to Zahraa Mohamed Haji from Bahrain. The goal of the competition is to enhance Thailand’s gem and jewelry industry and establish the country as a globally recognized jewelry brand.
