Japanese actor Kento Nagayama has been given a suspended prison sentence of six months for possession of cannabis. The 34-year-old actor pleaded guilty during the trial and was found to have 1.694 grams of cannabis at his home in Tokyo. Prosecutors had requested a prison term of six months. Nagayama admitted to using cannabis for the first time during his second year of junior high school and continued using it to aid sleep. Following the scandal, NHK dropped Nagayama from its yearlong period drama for 2024.
