Lekha Shankar, Bangkok’s International Festival of Dance & Music, is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a grand opening concert by Zubin Mehta, accompanied by Florence’s Symphony Orchestra of Maggio Musicale Florentino. The festival will showcase a variety of performances including opera, ballet, musical theatre, and illusionists. Notable acts include the Helikon Opera’s production of Aida, the Shanghai Yue Opera’s Dream of the Red Chamber, and the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra performing Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. The festival aims to promote Bangkok as a cultural capital and has also launched a student outreach program.
