Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was seen eating raw fish from Fukushima prefecture in a video released by the Japanese government. The fish, sourced from the region notorious for radioactive waste from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, aims to prove its safety. The release of radioactive tritium from the power plant has raised concerns, with neighbouring countries criticizing the potential harm to their fishing industries. China has even banned seafood imports from Japan. Kishida and three other ministers also consumed food from Fukushima and neighbouring provinces. The accident at the power plant in 2011 caused severe damage and released radiation.
