Alda had befriended a Danish tourist through a friend-finding app and stole his belongings, including his phone, cash, and credit cards. The police located and arrested Alda, who admitted to the crime and claimed to be a transgender woman still transitioning. She confessed to multiple sexual encounters with the tourist and became angry when she didn’t receive tips, leading her to steal his valuables. Alda expressed remorse for damaging Thailand’s reputation and warned foreign tourists to be cautious.
