A Thai elephant named Play Pepsi, subjected to brutal training methods, has been examined by veterinarians and found to not be seriously injured. The owner, who purchased the elephant for 1.5 million baht, is willing to sell it to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation. A video released by the Watchdog Thailand Foundation showed the cruel training methods, causing outrage from viewers. The elephant was attacked with sharp metal hooks after it attacked a trainer. Despite the wounds, Play Pepsi displayed no signs of aggression and its health is being monitored by veterinarians.
