Police in Thailand’s southern province of Songkhla are searching for a stolen sword belonging to the statue of Prince Lop Buri Ramet. The sword went missing from Khao Noi Hill and is suspected to have been stolen. Officials discovered the sword was missing and notified the police. It is believed that the theft occurred at night when there were no personnel on duty, and the sword may have been sold to an antiques collector. This is not the first time the sword has been stolen, as a replica was made to replace the original after it was stolen in 2008. Prince Lop Buri Ramet was known for his diplomatic skills in handling relations with the British Empire.
