Apple is reportedly in talks with banks, including HDFC Bank, to bring the Apple Card to India. During his trip to the country in April, Apple CEO Tim Cook met with HDFC Bank’s CEO to discuss the possibility of launching the credit card in India alongside Apple Pay. However, since only banks are allowed to issue credit cards in India, Apple may consider a co-branded card with HDFC Bank. Apple also held discussions with the Reserve Bank of India on the regulatory requirements. The decision is still pending, but Apple’s interest in the Indian market is evident through its recent store openings and growing sales.
