House Speaker Wan Mohamad Noor Matha has stated that Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat must officially inform the House of Representatives if he does not wish to be the opposition leader in parliament. Pita has expressed that his only political goal is to become the prime minister of Thailand. According to the Constitution and parliamentary regulations, the leader of the party with the most seats in the opposition will automatically become the opposition leader. If they decline the role, the leader of the second largest opposition party, in this case the Democrat party, will assume the position. The appointment of the opposition leader has no set time frame.
