The A17 Bionic chip for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to be manufactured using a 3nm fabrication process, offering significant performance and efficiency improvements compared to previous chips. The initial version of the A17 Bionic will be made using TSMC’s N3B process, with a switch to the N3E process planned for next year. While N3E provides better performance, it has tradeoffs in terms of efficiency. Apple may use the N3E version of the chip for the standard iPhone 16 models in 2024. The rumor comes from a Weibo user who accurately predicted previous iPhone details.
