The new Thai government is considering extending tourist visa validities from 30 to 90 days and making immigration procedures more convenient for foreign tourists. However, the proposal to exempt entry visas for tourists from China, India, and Russia is being carefully considered due to security implications. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin met with tourism businesses in Phang-nga province to discuss tourism promotion, wellness and health tourism, renovating an old airport, and promoting tourism in local communities. It is reported that there are about 3,000 potential local tourism businesses that are not properly registered and lack state support.
