Gen Prayut later met with the incoming prime minister, Srettha Thavisin, expressing that the meeting was timely but limited in time for extensive conversation. He also revealed his intention to retire at 70, surpassing the usual retirement age of 60 for state officials. Prayut refrained from commenting on Srettha’s parliamentary majority.
