BANGKOK (NNT) – Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has been transferred to the medical facility zone inside Bangkok Remand Prison due to multiple health issues. Officials from the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Corrections, and Bangkok Remand Prison confirmed Thaksin’s admission and stated that his health was checked by doctors. Thaksin, who is 74 years old, has been diagnosed with heart disease, lung disease, high blood pressure, and spondylosis. The doctors identified several conditions that needed monitoring, including his history of severe pneumonia caused by COVID-19. Thaksin’s spinal nerves are under pressure, causing chronic pain.
