Thaksin Shinawatra, who is currently receiving medical treatment at the Police General Hospital, will be able to have visits from his blood relatives starting on August 28th, according to Bangkok Remand Prison chief Nastee Thongplad. During the first five days of his hospitalization, no visitors will be allowed to see Thaksin. After spending his first day in incarceration at the Bangkok Remand Prison, he was transferred to the Corrections Hospital and then to the Police General Hospital on the night of August 23rd. Ten people have registered to visit Thaksin on the specified day, but their identities have not been disclosed. Non-relative visit requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Nastee emphasized that Thaksin is not being relocated to a private hospital, notwithstanding widespread speculation.
