Picture courtesy of KhaoSod – A 16-year-old boy was caught in Ayutthaya for smuggling 14 Burmese migrant workers in a stolen vehicle. The teenager was paid 15,000 baht (US$429) for his role. Highway police noticed the overloaded vehicle and signaled for it to stop. Despite trying to evade the police, the young driver was eventually apprehended. The migrant workers had illegally entered Thailand and were guided by Burmese smugglers. The teenager confessed that it was his first time undertaking such a task, and preliminary charges have been filed against him for facilitating illegal entry and reckless driving. The migrant workers are facing charges of unauthorized entry and stay in Thailand.
