The United States has congratulated Srettha Thavisin on his appointment as the new prime minister of Thailand, expressing a desire to strengthen the bilateral relationship. US Secretary of State Antony J Blinken stated that they will work with the prime minister to build on the U.S.-Thailand Communiqué on Strategic Alliance and Partnership from last year and further strengthen the alliance between the two countries. The U.S. will collaborate closely with the new Thai government to advance shared values and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific region. The countries celebrate 190 years of diplomatic relations this year. US Ambassador to Thailand, Robert F Godec, also expressed eagerness to work with the new prime minister and continue the long-standing partnership.
