Thailand has made significant progress in gender equality in education, moving up from 92nd to 61st place in the Global Gender Gap Report 2023. The report evaluates the gender gap in four key areas: economic participation and opportunities, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment. While the overall global score has slightly increased to 68.4%, progress in Asia-Pacific has slowed down. However, 80% of countries in the region have reduced the gender gap. The top nine countries that have achieved at least 80% gender equality include Iceland, Norway, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, Nicaragua, Namibia, and Lithuania.
