Loei medical worker steals from hospital to pay off gambling debt

Police in Loei uncovered the theft of ventilators from Loei Hospital after parts of medical equipment were found in the Loei River. The suspect, a 30-year-old male medical worker named Chinnawat Chatraksa, remains at large. CCTV footage showed Chinnawat stealing the equipment, which was later sold in Khon Kaen and Bangkok. A rescue team from Ayutthaya returned a stolen ventilator to the hospital after buying it online. The suspect’s friend mentioned that Chinnawat may have resorted to theft due to gambling debts. This incident is part of a larger trend of medical-related theft and fraud.
