Police in Pattaya are investigating an assault on a Japanese tourist by a group of Thai men, including a motorcycle taxi rider. The incident, captured in viral footage, showed the men punching and kicking the tourist on a busy road. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Kosei Kanasashi, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. The assault apparently stemmed from a dispute over a lost mobile phone. Despite the incident, the Japanese man refused treatment and left the hospital. Authorities are awaiting a formal complaint from the victim to proceed with the investigation.
