Chinese fugitive held in Thailand over 500m baht fraud

Thai immigration police arrested a Chinese national named Zhang for a 500 million baht fraud scheme. Zhang was found hiding at a sacred tattoo site in northeastern Thailand. He was wanted by Chinese authorities for fraud charges, operating a fraudulent company that swindled investors before fleeing to Thailand. Zhang was located in a remote forested area, hoping a tattoo ritual would bring him luck and prevent arrest. He admitted to overstaying his visa and now faces legal proceedings in Thailand. Zhang’s extradition back to China is expected in connection to the fraud case.
