Daniela Elstner, managing director of Unifrance, filed a police complaint against French actor Patrick Bruel, alleging attempted rape and sexual assault from 1997. Previously, she had shared her experience without naming him. Mediapart revealed Elstner as one of eight women accusing Bruel of sexual violence from 1992 to 2019. The incident alleged by Elstner occurred at Unifrance’s French Film Festival in Acapulco, Mexico, where Bruel allegedly assaulted her after forcing her into a VIP car. Bruel’s lawyer denied the allegations, while Elstner’s complaint aims for liberation rather than condemnation, even though the statute of limitations has expired.
