The highly anticipated sequel to “The Nun” is set to be released on September 8, 2023. The film, part of the Conjuring Universe, follows the story of Sister Irene and Father Burke as they investigate the death of a nun in Romania. The demon Valak, who escaped banishment in the first film, now resides in a new vessel. The trailer for “The Nun II” promises plenty of scares and a new storyline involving Valak. The film will only be released in theaters initially, but it is expected to be available for streaming eventually. The cast includes Bonnie Aarons reprising her role as Valak, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, and Jonas Bloquet as Maurice. Director Michael Chaves returns to helm the film, along with screenwriters Akela Cooper, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naing.
