Disney is reviving the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, over seven decades after its animated debut and eleven years following its live-action version. The new adaptation, titled Stepsisters, will focus on Cinderella’s evil stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella. Akiva Schaffer, known for the 2025 Naked Gun reboot, is set to direct. The original Cinderella story depicts a young girl helped by her fairy godmother to attend a royal ball despite her wicked family. This spin-off follows a trend of Disney exploring villain perspectives, similar to past adaptations like Maleficent and Cruella. A release date for Stepsisters is yet to be announced.
