CBS news chief Neeraj Khemlani is leaving his role at the company to pursue a new chapter with a multi-year, multi-platform first-look deal to develop content for Simon & Schuster. In a note to CBS staff, Khemlani expressed his excitement for the opportunity to write, report, and develop stories he has long wanted to pursue. He highlighted the success of CBS News during his tenure, including the transformation of the morning show, investment in reporting ranks and the D.C. Bureau, and maintaining the No. 1 position in weekend programs. CBS President and CEO George Cheeks praised Khemlani’s contributions to the company’s journalism.
