Disney+ is producing a reimagined version of FX’s Emmy-winning spy drama, The Americans, titled The Koreans. This adaptation shifts the setting to South Korea, focusing on a middle-class family with hidden secrets. Instead of KGB officers, the new story features North Korean infiltrators, played by Lee Byung-hun and Han Jimin. The series aims to capture a similar intrigue as the original, which aired from 2013 to 2018, showcasing issues of espionage in a gripping narrative. IMAGINUS and Studio AA are handling production, with the show slated to stream on Disney+ and Hulu internationally.
