An investigating committee has recommended that the Election Commission drop charges against Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat for allegedly violating election laws. The committee found no clear evidence that iTV, the media firm in question, was operating and earning income when Pita filed his candidacy in April. In order to disqualify Pita, there must be clear and undeniable evidence of his ownership of shares in the company, according to the committee’s findings. The case will now be considered by a sub-committee, which may postpone a decision until a ruling is made by the Constitutional Court regarding Pita’s parliamentary status and iTV share ownership.
