Filmmaker Juel Taylor, director of “They Cloned Tyrone,” received help from Guillermo del Toro in editing a crucial sequence in the film. Netflix found the sequence to be convoluted and Taylor sought out del Toro’s advice. Del Toro not only responded but spent a full day with Taylor, his co-writer, and editor working on the scene. His perspective helped them achieve their creative vision while also addressing Netflix’s note. Taylor described del Toro as generous with his time and a genius. Del Toro also made sure to stay involved and check on the progress even after the editing session.
