AEROTHAI says 1,000+ Middle East flights to Thailand cancelled

More than 1,000 flights to Thailand have been cancelled by airlines from the Middle East since February 28, affecting traffic through Thai airspace. This has resulted in disruptions at various airports in Thailand, with Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Phuket Airport being hit the hardest. The cancellations are part of the ongoing regional conflict, with the situation continuing to impact aviation demand and scheduling. Despite the disruptions, flight volumes in 2026 are still expected to be slightly higher than in 2025. Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports is seeking cooperation from the private sector to offer special travel packages for affected tourists.
